Our whole family watched Luther tonight, a movie about Martin Luther. Dad has been telling me what a great movie it is ever since he and mom watched it in at the cinema in Memphis. It was the best movie, and is now my favorite movie. It starts when he is out in a thunderstorm and he promises to give himself to God in exchange for his life. It is pretty historically accurate and I did not mind the poetic license that they did take in showing a lecture he was giving to his students on relics and indulgences.
The nailing of the 95 thesis to the door was a great scene. I checked out Martin Luther's 95 Thesis a couple of years ago from our church library. Now I've found a website where it has been published in English. http://www.luther.de/en/95thesen.html
I've edited this to add this trailer for the movie:
