I finally finished The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan the first in the Wheel of Time series all 658 pages of it. There are nine more books in this series and each one is just as long as The Eye of the World. An eleventh book is coming out in October! When is he going to end this series? The next time I want to start a novel of this size that leads to sequels of this size I need to ask myself how badly I really want to read the book. It took me over a month to read this book, of course I was reading other things at the same time and working too, but still. . .
OK onto other subjects.
Ever heard of nanowrimo? That is National Novel Writing Month. It happens every November and I've never been able to join in because I'm always in school gearing up for finals. Well I found something else that I can participate in it is called J-WAT or
July-Write-A-Thon. The concept is the same as nanowrimo, you have to write 50,000 words in one month, but you don't have to limit it to a novel you can write short stories, poems etc. Today is the first day and I spent most of it finishing my book so I will have to start writing this afternoon/evening. Of course this blog post counts towards my 50,000 words too so I guess I've already started. If you want to check out National Novel Writing Month the website is nanowrimo.com.
One last thing, as of today I've quit looking for an apartment. I signed a housing contract for Critz a dorm on campus last month as back up. If I want to get out of this contract I will have to pay $200, since it is July. I could have canceled on June 22 or before then without paying anything, but I did not have an apartment. So everyone please pray that I have a good roommate this semester.
